Our Australian Hazelnuts in Shell are grown exclusively for ActivEarth Food by Truffière Duthil, a boutique truffle and hazelnut farm in Essington, NSW, in the Oberon region.

Grown around 1,000 metres above sea level in deep volcanic basalt soils, these hazelnuts are carefully hand harvested “at the drop” and brought to you in their most natural form.

This is currently the only in-shell product in the ActivEarth Food range, and there is something wonderfully nostalgic about cracking fresh hazelnuts yourself.

These hazelnuts are not certified organic, however they are grown using traditional, low-intervention farming methods. The farm uses zero pesticides, zero insecticides, zero fungicides and zero synthetic fertilisers.

Enjoy them fresh from the shell, gently roast them at home, pair them with dried fruit, add them to homemade granola, bake with them, or use them to create your own chocolate hazelnut spread.
